The KB-1 is removable and may be used with an optional, extra elastic strap. **Q: Will this fit an iPad Air in an otter box case?** A: No an Ipad with or without a case will not fit. **Q: Does this come with the actual clipboard?** A: Yes. It's nearly identical to the clipboard only sold as ASA-KB-1. Aluminum clipboard is sturdy. I use the see through pocket for a plan of the airport so I can check the taxi route. Much better than the loaner given out at the flying school. Not so big that it interferes with the yoke.
