I didn't want to take a chance scratching the 62mm front lens so I attached this filter to protect it. You can pay a lot more for a UV filter but this one works perfectly and at a cost of approximately $10 it's a great value. The filter is actually 67mm in diameter and it comes with a free step down adaptor.
