The waving lotion DOES have a strong smell, however, the neutralizer is actually pleasant and cancels out the smell of the first solution.*My hair looks to be in good condition with soft curls immediately following the process.I have a lot of hair, down to the middle of my back, so wrapping took some time and I used two perms. (Suggested if the user has long and/or very thick hair)I will say I was a bit hesitant to use anything but my usual brand, but this was less expensive and received good reviews, so I was willing to give it a chance.My fears were put to rest after I took the bender rods out during the neutralizing process.I finished rinsing and so far, I am very pleased with the results.There is a standard waiting period before shampooing following a new perm, and during the first week, I do as little as possible (ie. styling with heat, etc.) to my hair, in order to give it a chance to "set".The true test for a new perm is the quality and duration of the resulting curls, which is not immediately evident until after the first washing, conditioning and styling of the hair.In this respect, I will update my review following this process.My "Dislikes":The instructions could be a little more clearly explained in English. This perm is popular in Thailand. It is a Thai product, and instructions are written in both English and Thai. The English written instructions are a little unclear and I had to review them several times to be assured that I was following along and doing everything in correct order.With that being said, it IS understandable; the user should just take care to be clear on the step by step process.My other drawback would be the price. It seems that this product fluctuates in price, and I purchased at a much lower price.Overall, I am intially happy with my hair and will probably purchase this product again.*Watch for my review updatescoming soon!UPDATE: Life gets busy, so consequently, I am just now returning to leave an update on my review.That said, I would purchase the perm again as it does give a very nice loose curl/wave. I did not experience any frizz, breakage, or excessive dryness.
