Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition - PlayStation 4

Enhanced Editions of Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, & Siege of Dragonspear I am so thrilled these games have reemerged as I played them when they first came out back in 1999 and 2000 and I still have them. I will say it’s a “memory lane” blast playing these again and my jaw hit the floor when I noticed these games were available for pre-order last week as I didn’t get the memo they were coming out, but after my “no way, this is not possible” moment, and pulling my jaw off the floor, I instantly ordered these, as well as the Icewind package and Neverwinter Nights too. I played the d&d book and dungeon games a little as a kid and have been hooked on the pc d&d games since Pool of Radiance from 1988, which I still have. Actually I guess I could be called a “collector” as I still have all of my old pc games, so buying this rerelease that transitions to the PS4 was a ”no brainer” for me. I must admit I was still a little shocked that I was holding these rereleased games in my hands when they arrived on the 15th – and luckily I only had to wait on pre-order for six days as I never knew these games were being rereleased and transitioning to the PS4. I’m a BIG memory lane person and this “blast from the past” is a HUGE hit with me, so buying these was a must have moment for me. Looks like I’m the second review of these games, where I’ll leave the same game review for both packages. Also, I agree with the first reviewer completely in the differences between these games, and I will add that I’m really looking forward to Neverwinter coming out in December. I will add that I truly hope more of the d&d pc games make their way over to the PS4 as I would love for the Dark Sun series and Icewind II, as well as others, also come to the PS4. Here’s what’s so cool about all of this. First, I find these games to be super fun and super addictive and I really enjoy playing them. Second, when these games came out back in 1999-2000 it was, if my memory is correct, a DX4-100 or a Pentium 100 pc chip if you were lucky on a 15 inch monitor; so replaying these games on a PS4 with a large 4k wide-screen tv is mind-blowing and super cool. These games were all HUGE when they first came out and are all still highly revered today, some 20 years later, which shows how GREAT they were back then. In my opinion, those of us that played these “back in the day,” purchasing these rereleases and converts to the PS4 is a “no brainer” and a “must have” and I have already purchased the pre-releases and hope many more follow as I’ll be buying those too. For the new players of these classic games, I could easily say “go for it” and buy these as they are already priced as a “Greatest Hits” and “All DLC included,” so the price is right and the games are classics and an absolute blast playing.

Game arrived early, and was loose in case( this is more than likely not sellers fault as I have purchased games from walk in stores and this has been an issue as well. ) If you are reading this then your already a fan of the old school turn based RPGs and these games are the pinnacle of the genre and have yet to be beat. Sony has done a fantastic job porting it and I have yet to run into any issues with the game. Controller instead of mouse and keyboard are a tad strange and takes a bit of getting used to. Overall pleased with game as well as seller

Well I did like the price but unfortunately it said it was an acceptable condition which I should have probably not bought it but when I went to use the video game it wouldn't run at all so I won't be buying from that source again and I for sure will not buy an acceptable video game again only good condition instead of whatever acceptable means to that seller cuz it's not

The graphics in the cut-scenes have been re-worked, but other than that, this is Baldur's Gate, pretty much exactly as I remember it, years ago. The controls are a bit of a challenge to learn on the PS4, (this game used to be a PC title) but after some time, you get used to it. Awesome game that uses Dungeons and Dragon's game mechanics!

I have had the original PC version for years and enjoy firing it up now and again to play. The newer console version is different enough in terms of play style to be less enjoyable for me. My nephew however who knew nothing about the PC version loves it and enjoys playing it. My experience on the PC version probably ruined the experience. The port is a good one and if you approach with an open mind or don’t have any prior PC experience will probably enjoy the product. On the seller side , the transaction was flawless. I received it quickly and had zero issues. In no way should my disappointment with the game be reflective of the service I received.

By far the best RPG video game I have ever played! Almost as fun as real D&D. The voice acting is stunning, especially on the part of Mark Meer as Baeloth. The story is very fun and engaging, and the side quests are also enjoyable instead of being tedious. I highly recommend this game for all RPG fans!

This is not a new game. There is a bunch of new content. I played this back when I was 12 and was looking for a nestalgic game to play for an hour or 2 after my night shifts. This is and always was a great game(s). The new content was interesting. If you have played and loved this get it and you will play and love it again. If you haven't played this is an older game. More heart then graphics, but you will love it.

Great game for rpg fans

Husband loves this game! He used to play it when he was much younger and it brings back good memories. Graphics aren't hi-tech so if that is what you are looking for you'll probably be disappointed but he finds the storyline and the game overall very enjoyable.
