I was coming from an old Gateway that had Windows XP on it. So, yes, I had a dinosaur and I was happy to see it go. I was still a little untrusting, however, that I would be able to learn Windows 8 because I was so far behind. So, I needed the best book for someone who really is a dummie! Everyone I talked to told me that this was the book to get. Well, I can't say that others don't find it sufficient to meet their needs, but it certainly didn't fit mine. I went carefully through it chapter by chapter doing everything I was told to do, but at the end of all that, I felt clueless. I couldn't do what I needed to do, and by its title, this book sounded like it was perfect. I found it to be too simple. I discovered that after 10 or more years coddling along my old computer, I had learned new things. And, I needed more than this book offered to be able to do what I had always done on Windows XP. So, I decided to look for another book, and I found what I needed in a book with the title of MY WINDOWS 8. It was not written by Micrcosoft, and I know now that being taught by an outsider offered me the kind of teaching and lessons that I wanted. I now feel so comfortable "whizzing around" on Windows 8 that I truly am proud of myself!
