The shelves slide in order to adjust. There is no way to connect the two pieces together. Therefore, it is unstable. I bought this for my corner at my desk....I put it together (which was easy, but it is scratched from shipment) but it has yet to make it to my desk....I’m not sure how I feel about this item. I had to clean them/wipe them all off. Then, the shelves had scratches all over them. The "paint" was also chipped on some of them. I would have returned them, but it's more of a pain to return them then it is to just keep them. I have things on the shelves that cover the scratches, but cheap, cheap , cheap for what I paid for it. NOT worth the money at all! So disappointed. Can't believe they would send out a product that was dirty and clearly had scratches all over it.
