Arden Grange Tasty Liver Paste for Dogs 75g

My dog (a picky shih-tzu maltese mix) has been taking pills for her heart twice per day for a couple years now, and for a long time she was fine taking them using doggy pill wraps but then one day she decided she was not interested in those anymore. I tried a variety of brands and flavors but every day it became a struggle. In desperation I did a google search and discovered this product which seemed to work for a lot of other picky dogs and it 100% worked immediately. My dog loves it and med-time is not an issue any more. **Tips: Once opened you have to keep it in the fridge, which makes it thicker and tough to squeeze out of the container. But when it's cold, it's easier to mold around the pill. When it's room temp that part is harder. I've been taking it when it's room temp, squeezing it all into a small tupperware container, and then I put that in the fridge for daily use. I just mold a small amount of the paste around each pill and she eats it right out of my hand. It's a bit messy but worth it. I also cut the container open because you can squeeze out a lot more than you think. So yes there are some logistical cons to this product but it makes my dog's pill-taking so much easier that I don't care. I've already repurchased this multiple times.

One of my old dogs is on numerous meds several times a day and there are times that he just doesn't want to take anything I offer him. Cheese is usually taken but I worry about the fat and milk content. This liver paste has changed pill time, he takes his meds readily and really enjoys it; in fact he'll come tell me it's pill time if I'm not paying attention to the clock. I've not had any problems with the tube (although it does take more pressure than the average toothpaste tube) and I have arthritis in my hands. Give it a try, both my dogs love it. I may have spoken too soon about the tube. My second tube is extremely hard to manipulate and a real battle to get the product out of. I'll get a third because the dogs love it so much and if I have to will slice it open and scoop it into a jar. It would be really nice if the maker put it into a jar instead of this heavy tube! Anyone with really weak or painful hands won't be able to use this.

We have a 16 year old yorkie who take medication twice a day. We usually use sliced turkey but she often turns her nose up. This paste is fantastic. She took the pills with the paste with no problems. Only issue is that the tube is only good for 10 days after opening. I think it will go bad before we use it all. Great product!!!!!

I have 3 of the pickiest dogs & they all love this liver paste & is healthier than some others as this has limited ingredients. Only suggestion I would have is if it came in a more pliable tube instead of the aluminum which is cold & not very workable. When it gets toward the end, it is hard to get the paste to come out. Other than that, pills go down a lot easier because they like it so much. Thank you for a great product

The liver paste itself is apparently tasty and the dogs like it but the tube it comes in is almost impossible to use. I bought a key to turn and fold the tube from the bottom up and that was no good. Eventually, I wrapped the tube in a cloth and stepped on it to get the paste out. That worked, then the side of the tube split so more paste came out that way too! All rather ridiculous.

The dogs love this liver treat - it's their most favorite ever. We use it to spread onto a licky mat and it distracts even our most paranoid dog during grooming enough that the groomer can clip his nails. So far we haven't had any problems with it causing stomach upset or poo issues (and one dog definitely has a sensitive stomach, so yay for that!). The ingredients are very easy to read and understand. I like that there's not a lot in there that I don't know what it is. The price has gone up recently and I can't say it's a good value for this size tube at that price, but I can't say no when the dogs love their liver pâté treat. My only complaint is that getting it out of the tube is stupidly difficult, and at the price they have it at, I want every last drop, so I usually cut the tube open with scissors and scrape the last of it out. Really wish they would put this in a jar situation. We will keep buying it tho because the positives outweight the negatives.

My dog had surgery and wasn't feeling well. I couldn't get him to take his medication in anything until I found this. Works perfect to hide and mask the smell of medication.

My dog loves this and takes any size pill in it, but the packaging is terrible and is difficult to get out and wastes a good portion of it. Change the packaging !!

Great product to use when medicine has to be taken orally by your best friend. Dog that is.

This is easily the best liver paste you can buy for your dogs, it's thick and has great consistency, you can easily hide a tablet inside a rolled up ball and the thickness of the paste is perfect for making small balls to aid in this purpose too. You can even stir or mix in a few drops of medicine if it is in liquid form too. I've yet to see a dog that isn't absolutely mad on the stuff and don't pause to consider there might be a tablet or something else smuggled inside it, they just wolf it down instantly and always come back for seconds. It's not just for tablets though, it makes an effective if messy treat for your dogs as well. I've tried pill pockets. They're not very useful - they work, sure - but they tear and fall to pieces extremely easily, the tablet often falls out of them when the dog is eating it, and the bag itself might contain maybe 50% of actual whole pill pockets and the rest of the bag is just generic mush. Liver paste? Liver paste will never let you down, you can fashion it into the perfect sized tablet smuggler any time you need it. Good stuff. There's only really one flaw with these and that's the metal tube causing crimps and making it difficult to squeeze the stuff out, especially thanks to how thick the paste is too. You might hurt your hands if you don't have a particularly good grip or your hands are soft - my advice is buying one of those tube squeezer devices to go with it, it makes the job easier, cleaner and more efficient too! Great purchase, happy purchase. Good liver paste every time - my dogs are grateful.
