So if you decide to look at other tables realize they might be much thinner and not hold up over time. This table is solid and worth the money. A: The table is one piece...there is no assembly required.

**Q: Would this table be strong enough to hold a 42" television?**
A: 42" television?   Sure, plenty strong.

**Q: How does this table hold up over time? I am wondering about how bad it looks after 6 months or so in regards to the amount of scratches it collects.**
A: We've had ours for almost 6months and it still looks great. I own Kartell chairs and those scratch up easily within days, but this coffee table is not like that. It is heavy so maybe that's why it has better coating and scratches are not as noticeable (but it does exist)
