Setting it up basically consists of setting it under the rear tire of the trike and verifying that it is lined up with the wheel. This model is good for light to moderate workouts. The resistance is magnetic, and is proportional to the wheel speed. You use the gear shift and the pedal speed to control the resistance and your power output. The rear roller with the red band becomes mildly warm over time during use.If you want higher resistance for a more rigorous workout, get the progressive "Pro" version, with which the resistance increases in a non-linear fashion.
