She complained right away about the strap hurting her foot. It does land in an odd spot right where your foot connects with your leg instead of farther down on the top of your foot. The band is pretty tight, and is uncomfortable. The shoe itself fit correctly for the size; she wears a 12 1/2 and a 12 1/2 fit. Because it was a beginner's class, she only wore them for an hour. I'm not sure if she could withstand the band for a few hours. She has wide feet so the shoes were slightly narrow. They are ballet shoes so pretty flat on the bottom. She wears a 5 or 5 1/2 in a normal shoe. They were way too small! I returned them and got a 6.5 M US Toddler size, and they are perfect! The shoes that she could have gotten through her dance teacher would have been the same price. However, her teacher likes these better than the ones that she gets! She says that these are softer leather and the elastics are the proper length.
