Provides an anchoring rod to secure one side of a double gate. Review: Love the long pole - With the 30 inch pole you don’t have to bend down to open the gate. We open and close our gate often during the day so this makes my wife happy. I used these for a homemade double gate so I had to retrofit them slightly. 1) I mounted the slide brackets slightly lower than instructed in order to get the pole to stick deeper into the ground (making them a bit stronger). By design I knew that doing this would make the “V” post holder ineffective as it would be too low and the post would drag. I initially intended to add a wood block to the gate to supplement as a holder but my horizontal board design was able to accommodate this by allowing the post handles to simply hang on the rail when the gate is open. 2) I also had to cut grooves into the gate for the flush mounted post to slide since they weren’t made for flush mounting. Easy retrofit. Could have mounted a 2x block for this but the notch was quicker and easier. See photos for ideas. Super happy that I bought these 30” and for the same price as 12 or 18”. Can’t beat it. Review: No sleeve so having something just big enough for the rod's diameter will be key - Worried it wouldn't work in the sandy area I tried to use these, I used metal stands meant for holding solar garden lights that were just large enough to use as guide placeholders for the rod in the down position and it works kind of great so far. It’s the perfect fit for our sliding barn doors on our horse barn. Small fault - The portion to hold the drop bar in the up position is too short and level so the handle tends to slide down.
