The plastic was of a substantial thickness, and the height (or depth if you prefer) was able to accommodate all but the most gargantuan of potatoes(I'm talking small football sized potatoes). It steams the potatoes very well, and even with what I am assuming are two "safety relief valve" pinholes(very small) on top of the lid on opposite ends, there is more than enough steam retained inside the cooker to get the job done. It does accommodate 4 medium potatoes very well, but perhaps they could make a model that would allow you to steam one of the truly giant Idaho potatoes. A slightly taller lid should be all that is needed to do that. It cleans up very easily(but I don't know if it is dishwasher safe), and should I lose or somehow damage the cooker somehow(the plastic is very tough and drop-resistant) I will definitely buy it again.Highly recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Four Stars *by R***R on January 7, 2017* works well ### ⭐ One Star *by U***U on May 24, 2016* Cheap plastic.
