I'm sorry I can't tell if there is any alcohol, but Amazon did state that the product was alcohol free. The smell is fairly strong, but once I got used to it, it didn't bother me as much.

It can be used for either. I have used it for both and I love it. I have already ordered this 4 times. It really is a great product.
