## Description

Product description **PLEASE USE IN CONJUNCTION WITH VETERINARY ADVICE AND A BUSTER COLLAR TO PREVENT PATIENT INTERFERENCE** DOG ENDS are innovative shock absorbing, plastic mesh tail bandages that aid in the treatment of tail tip injuries in dogs. Dog Ends prevents continued impact injuries to the tail tip, which occur through wagging and knocks against the wound, this also prevents repeated blood loss and pain for the patient, and reduces mess to clear up for dog owners! Application of the Dog Ends with the mesh overhanging the tail tip by 3cm (1 inch), will allow the mesh to flex and absorb force. Excellent first-aid device to cover, protect and promote natural wound healing. Mesh structure provides ventilation to minimise infection, unlike any other traditional padded bandages or syringe cases. Reduces healing time by preventing non-healing wounds. Bleeding most commonly stops in 1-2 days, full healing takes between 2 and 8 weeks depending on the severity of the injury. Light-weight structure is extremely well tolerated by patients and is highly durable, to allow energetic, happy dogs to be themselves! Always ensure that the tail is protected by using Dog Ends in conjunction with a correctly-sized Elizabethan collar, to prevent chewing or biting of the wound or bandage. Your Veterinary Surgeon can use Dog Ends with sterile primary dressings as well as protective layers of cohesive bandage. Antibiotics and painkilling drugs may be required - consult your veterinary surgeon. Dog Ends should be checked daily and replaced when they are dirty or damaged. Eaze Off Spray (sold separately) works superbly well in conjunction with Dog Ends when removing the dressing, preventing any discomfort or loss of fur that adhesive tape can cause when removing. Directions Apply with applicator included. Leave 3cm at end of tail to allow flexing and shock absorbing. Always use in conjunction with an appropriately fitting Elizabethan Collar Safety Warning To be used in conjunction with a correctly fitting Elizabethan collar to prevent licking or biting of the tail wound. Only to be used on dog tail-tip injuries. Best used as a first-aid device. Always consult a Veterinary Surgeon if your animal has an open wound. Antibiotics or pain-relief may be required in addition to this product for complete wound healing. Legal Disclaimer Dog Ends have the best success rate on recent/fresh injuries. As with any bandage or dressing they will not work with every patient. They can still be used on old/chronic injuries but may not always be effective. Tail tip amputation may be necessary on tail tip injuries with severe infection or bone exposure, where medical treatment is not working. The Dog Ends do not tighten up around the tail - however as with any bandage, if pain or swelling of the wound is observed, always remove the bandage and consult your veterinary surgeon. Always follow the instructions enclosed with the product. Always use an appropriately sized Elizabethan collar to prevent chewing of the tail or bandage. Dog Ends should only be used as an aid to treatment for tail injuries in dogs. Always consult your veterinary surgeon for advice when your dog is injured.

Review: Overpriced but they work - As other reviews have mentioned these are definitely very overpriced. Having said that they have been excellent in healing my dog's tail. They are not perfect and you still need to be careful as my dog did manage to open the wound after hitting her tail too hard on something once or twice, but allowing the wound to breath (at one point we had the tail in a closed bandage and this made the wound much worse) while still offering some protection really helped and her tail is now almost fully healed. I have also shown them to my vet who think it's a very clever solution.
Review: May work on smaller breeds! - I have Great Dane who had a very lethal wagging tail. I had tried all sorts to protect it but unfortunately it split and became very sore! I tried various different dressings to no avail as every thing just flew off! I bought these and again these never worked they came off with her wagging! In principle very good as they let the air through to help healing but maybe with a less wagging tail they might have worked! In the end the only thing that helped was plumbers pipe lagging held on with a blue bandage 🙈🙈

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long is each piece of mesh as the injury on my dog is not right at tip of tail. Also are they suitable for a greyhound's skinny tail?**
A: Hi - each mesh tube is 10cm long. They certainly work for greyhounds - the mesh is not elastic but it can be stretched and deformed from a very slim shape to something much fatter.
In your situation, they may not be ideal as they are designed to overhang the tail tip and deflect impacts away from wounds on the tail tip itself.
For wounds further down the tail, I have used them in combination with conventional bandage dressings to help keep a bandage in place, but if the wound is a long way from the tail tip, they won't provide much shock absorption. Please feel free to message us directly through Amazon for more help. As always, for a difficult wound, it is sensible to speak with a vet or vet nurse at your local practice - combinations of different dressings often work better in these situations than one dressing alone. In particular, a sterile non adherent skin dressing applied to the wound before placing a Dog End mesh tube over the top can work very well.

### ⭐⭐⭐ May work on smaller breeds!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective tail protection
*by B***5 on 21 January 2026*

I have a working springer x labrador who loves cover. He cut his tail after half a day of work, I now use these as a preventative measure when he is working, they are great. The only downsides are that the tape pulls the hair out when he is going through cover and he tends to lose them which is getting expensive! Seem very pricey for what you get in the box, I also buy extra tape separately (have a look at the wrapper).
