Les Paul-100, Heritage Cherryburst

Yeah, so I had a Schecter C-6, this guitar sounds and feels much better than it at almost half the price. I got the ebony one, it's beautiful. nice and solid. good size, the pickups are much better than my Schecter too, they actually 'pick up' the higher strings. I'm enjoying this guitar. thx. Oh also, I saw so many people receiving this guitar with a broken neck, was kinda nervous about that, however mine came in perfect condition.

I am a longtime acoustic guitar player, and I've wanted to play electric for a while now, but I knew I needed to make an decent investment to help motivate me to play. Plus I've never been a big fan of buying a cheap item to start, so i can buy a more expensive one in a year when I out grow it. So when I saw that I could get a Les Paul- albeit it a Epiphone and not a Gibson-for this price I was thrilled. Its worth noting that there is another Epiphone Les Paul that is cheaper. Epiphone LP Special II Les Paul Electric Guitar, Vintage Sunburst However you will not that there are fewer controls on the guitar. Meaning you loose out on the ability to individually control the tone of the pickups. In my opinion the extra hundred dollars for this guitar is more than worth it. It is worth noting that I purchased this guitar through amazon from American Musical Supply, it did not come with a cable or anything extra, just a guitar in a box. One of the things I didn't know when I bought it, is that even though its made in China-some of them come from Indonesia as I understand it, but mine was made in china so I can't speak to that-it was inspected before packing, to make sure that there was no physical damage to the guitar, that all the hardware worked, and that it maintained its intonations. So in the box you will receive a checklist that someone had to check off to make sure you receive a quality guitar. Its a great starter guitar, in part because of its slimmer body, making it both lighter and a littler easier to play. This is important when you've got a guitar strapped to your shoulder for an hour or more during practice, and gig times. It also is easy to play with the strings that come on it. Which I think are lighter weight then i am used to, but allow you to bend strings easier, which is great because that's an important technique to master-but please, don't over use it. Also don't ever let anyone give you any grief for buying a bolt neck guitar. Yes they are cheaper, but the Tune-o-matic bridge makes up for any difference in the quality of sound you would get. thanks to that handy little bridge the intonation can be adjusted to be perfect all the way up the neck. The guitar sounds even prettier than it looks-which is very pretty-holds a tune, and has given me nothing to complain about. All in all, I would buy this guitar again, and it will take something pretty amazing for me to replace it as my primary electric. Or enough money to afford a Gibson model.

The headline of this review is not intended to start any debates over what constitutes a "great axe". I'm sure we all have our opinions and there is little question as to how this model would compare to a top-shelf Gibson or Fender. This is a great axe for me and for what I'm doing, and it's quite likely that it will fit nicely into your arsenal. This is my second six-string and is the one I play the most. It has an attractive tan and black sunburst. The knobs and pickup selector switch are in the correct places for the classic Les Paul look. There are lower-priced Epiphone Les Pauls available. I chose to spend a bit more on this guitar because the less expensive guitars had two knobs with the pickup selector between them, rather than the four-knob "diamond" arrangement with the pickup switch above the neck. It's my opinion that the lower-priced guitars don't look right, almost as if parts were forgotten to be added and the selector put in the wrong place. The discussion of how the guitar looks may be irrelevant to some, but the look was a factor in my decision to go with this one. A disclaimer is in order before I continue with how the guitar plays and sounds. I'm not a professional guitarist. I'm an enthusiastic novice Metal God. I'm not good at playing guitar yet. I have tons of fun playing in my room, learning new chords, and mangling old rock-n-roll songs. My enthusiasm and lack of experience and skill destroys what little objectivity or credibility I have. It's best to disregard what follows as the ravings of a wannabe, talent-free hack. This guitar plays and sounds AWESOME! It has a much fuller sound than my Squire Strat. It's a heavy instrument, but I think that adds to the sound. There was a little bit of fret rattle when I first got the guitar, but that was fixed without a truss rod adjustment by raising the bridge with a flathead screwdriver. The guitar comes with an instruction book that explains how to adjust the bridge. Clean or distorted, this guitar sounds great. It's also easier for me to play, as the neck is a bit wider than my Strat. Despite its weight, it's a very comfortable guitar. It feels really good to play it. It came with a sticker. The word "Epiphone" is printed in white script on a black background. It's a rectangular 11.5 in. x 3 in. (29 cm x 7.6 cm). All four corners are slightly rounded. The backing paper was easily removed from the sticker prior to installation on my guitar case. As of writing, the sticker has remained attached to the outside of the case, with no peeling and no noticeable movement on the case. Be advised that only visual inspections were made. No instruments or measurements were used to determine whether or not the sticker has moved. Five out of five stars for the sticker. The most burning question about this guitar has not been answered yet. That question is "What is the quality of the evil produced by this instrument of demonic possession?" The answer: top quality evil. Bust out with some old-school Heavy Metal through this bad boy and a distinct, undeniable portent of doom will instantly cover the general vicinity. Rodents may or may not die. Trees will shiver. I really like this guitar. It's first-rate for what I need it for. It's a good upgrade from the guitars that typically come with guitar/amp starter sets that are often the first step in a guitarist's career. I gave it four stars because of the buzzy fret, but other than that it's a fine instrument. Treat it well and you'll have lots of fun. Evil, too. Lots of evil.

I got into guitar playing a while ago, my father makes guitars for a living and they were always coming and going in our house during my childhood. I never really knew names or brands, to me it was just... guitar. So a couple of months ago I started researching the Gibson family company. I wanted a Les Paul ssoooooo baaaaaddd!!!!! but every one I saw was like $2,000. Then I learned of Epiphone and though that it could be a good chance for me to get a Les Paul. So I went on amazon, and the first result I got was about $150. I thought it was kinda crappy, but good enough. then I found the next level up for the LP special. the LP 100. I made a deal with my parents, paid for half of it, and bought it for Christmas. As I am only 13, This was a huge thing for me even thought I also have a Squire Stratocaster and an Ibanez RX series. but still, LES PAUL!!! So that's only the affordability of it. Now we get onto the actual Guitar itself. This guitar has all the features of a Vintage Sunburst Gibson Les Paul. (4 knobs, 22 frets, raised pick guard, two 700T duel Humbucker pickups, a 3 position selecter switch for the pickups on the top left corner, etc.) the only feature it doesn't have is the Gibson Les Paul has diamond type designs in the shape of trapezoids on the fretboard, and the LP 100 only has dots. If you want the trapezoids you can buy the Les Paul custom, or the Les Paul standard for a little more money. but it makes no difference if you're into it for the sound because the sound on this instrument is incredible. you can play literally anything. Any style. This baby can shred like a MONSTER!! yet weep like an angel. Play anything on it. no matter what style you're into, you can use this instrument. You can play Jazz, Blues, Pop, Hard rock, Soft rock, Classic rock, Metal, Death-metal, Punk, Grunge, Alternative, Goth, Scream-o, Van Halen, Satriani, Santana, etc. If you are a good player, yet inexperienced and ignorant of brands and sounds and styles, this guitar is for you. you can play with the knobs and get different sound. I believe that my life was just destined to have this guitar be a huge part of it so I absolutely love it. I played it at a wedding last week, and everyone was in shock. Epiphone is the official guitar of the game Rocksmith which is the fastest free way to learn guitar (minus the cost of the game and console) so if you want this guitar but don't know how to play, I would suggest buying the Rocksmith pack. which consists of the game, cable, guitar, and learners manual. I REALLY REALLY REALLY recommend this guitar for anyone with a budget and a passion. I love it.

Only had this a couple of days, so still getting acquainted with her. So far I think this will be long love affair, until I can afford a Gibson. I have the ebony, and the finish is beautiful. The sound is wonderful as well. The neck plays like a dream, who cares if it's bolted on? The strings are easy to bar, no fret buzz when open strings are played. The price is right. Time will tell of the longevity factor. Just got the perfect amp, a Fender Mustang I. This amp would make a mere novice into a rock star. Especially when paired with this axe. I can't imagine all the things that the amp does, for 99 bucks. Buy it, you'll love it. Update, had the guitar a few months now, and the input jack just fell into the guitar body. Went to the repair shop to get it fixed, now it doesn't play at all, bummer. Looks like another trip to the repair shop, not really happy with this, plays like a dream when it plays. I hope it's covered by warranty. Again, took it to the repair shop, they put loctite on it. Got home and jammed for 2 hours, went to unplug and the input jack came loose again. I've owned many guitars in my time, from good to cheap, but never had I had any trouble with an input jack, like this. I'm at my wits end, I wonder if all LP 100's have this problem, or did I just get a lemon. Update 10/2012: The problem with the input jack has been fixed for some time now. I would still highly rate this guitar! It cost 5 bucks to fix. The play is still amazing for the price! ROCK ON!

Love the guitar! Arrived a little late but it’s perfect!

I have been playing guitar since I was 6 years old (over 3 decades) and I must say this was a very pleasant surprise. I haven't had an electric in years, and didn't have the budget to get a Gibson, so picked up this Epi Les Paul 100 instead, along with a Fender Mustang I Amp. Great combination. This guitar has a very sloid feel, and came set-up perfectly right out of the box. All it needed was tuning. Unlike others, I didn't feel that the strings I got needed to be changed right away, but probably within the first two weeks you will want to change them. Replaced mine with Ernie Ball "Not Even Slinky's" and couldn't be happier with the way this thing plays and sounds. Great sustain, beautiful harmonics, the clean tones are warm, can get nice blues tones out of it, and superb thrash metal too. Very versatile. It does not quiet do country or jazz, but it wasn't really meant to. The action is extremely easy, fret board has a great feel to it, good width on the neck, not too slinder but not too thick. It just feels good in your hands. The finish on this product is very nice. One thing though, the pick guard is kind of a tan / cream off white color, not bright white as pictured, but it still looks great. Also, not mentioned in the description, but this does come with a 12 foot cord, but it's not the best quality. Would recommend picking up a new one when you order. Overall, this is well worth the $500 that they list as the MSRP. At less than half that its a steal. If you are considering this instrument, don't hesitate.

I am self taught and play acoustic mostly, but I've been wanting a good electric guitar for quite a while and couldn't quite justify spending a lot of money. I am also a fan of Epiphone, so when I saw the LP 100 at the 249 price range I decided I had to have it. Straight out of the box I tuned and was playing this guitar within 5 minutes, the sound is awesome. I also purchased some " Elixir Strings Electric Guitar Strings, 6-String, Light NANOWEB Coating " from Amazon as Elixir last a lot longer in my experience and sound great. Heads-up, in my experience most guitars need the strings changing when first purchased, I have 5 guitars, 3 bought online. Although I will be changing the strings today, this guitar rocks with my Fender Mustang I Electric Guitar Amplifier (another great buy from Amazon). I wasn't sure what color finish to get at first and then decided on the sunburst as it matches my Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Shadow Preamp, Vintage Sunburst , great acoustic BTW. The finish is beautiful on both guitars. Back to the LP 100, The set up on arrival appears to be good, but I may tweak this when the new strings are on. If your not sure how to set up a guitar please take it to an expert and have them set it up for you, most Guitar Centers will do this for a small fee. As I have only owned this guitar for 24 hours I will probably come back in a couple of weeks to edit my review. Well that's enough for now, I have some strings to change and some jamming to take care of. Stop reading and BUY, you won't be sorry!

I won one of these in a prize competition, and WOW! This guitar was so good i bought another of here as a gift for somebody. What can i say, i have a Gibson LP Standard 120th anniversary. which is a great guitar, but so is this.Looks great, tobacco burst, Fab Humbuckers, Great sound and excellent weight to it same as all Les Paul's Heavy! For the price of this you can't go wrong. If you are looking for a Les Paul standard copy at a decent price,then i wouldn't get a copy. Go with this. Spend the extra few pound and get this at a bargain of a price. Cant go wrong, life time warranty when you register it on Gibson or Epiphone website. Well can't say anymore really plays well, sounds great, will last for years, Solid Rock! This will be great for gigging and for beginners, first guitar and so on. I would have loved to have one of these if it had been my first guitar, set up for life. Anyway Defo recommended. Long time Gibson Player Keep The Faith

Y como digo no soy experto, pero el sonido es espectacular. No creo que tenga nada que envidiar a guitarras de gama más alta.
