I concur with opinions that fault the power cord connection to the case; it is flimsy. The case fan is also quite loud. Although the fan might be necessary when the enclosure is used for a hard drive, there is little need for it when the enclosure is used for a CD-ROM so I just disconnected it. The main body of the case is pretty sturdy aluminum but the fitment to the plastic endpieces is poor and uneven. In spite of these criticisms, the enclosure seems to do its main functional job well and I can immediately see this CD-ROM drive and its contents under Windows 10. This was the only such external USB case I could find for an IDE interface drive so I am happy to have it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked as expected for application I wanted. *by T***S on January 7, 2013* I purchased the portable enclosure to mount a 160 GB HDD that I had obtained in a non-functioning computer from a close friend. My objective was to transfer pictures/files onto this drive for back-up and I was completely satisfied with the outcome. Enclosure accepted the old WD IDE drive and booted up/was recognized immediately. After re-formatting the 160 GB drive I transferred for back-up approximately 35,000 .JPG images and miscellaneous files. Worked as expected with no problems.
