I found the instructions very basic and there was nothing on troubleshooting. Sorry I can't help. **Q: Why does the red light stay on after the engine has been turned off and the car locked? Will this drain my battery?** A: If you are using the auxiliary power socket (the cigarette lighter) then your camera will turn off a moments after you switch off your ignition. The internal battery is still functioning that is why you can see the red light. Your vehicle battery will not be drained as a result. However, if you have wired the camera in a different configuration consult a vehicle electrician to solve the issue as it could be wired incorrectly. **Q: Would it record someone scratching your car with a stone or something through the night** A: Its a dash cam so unless u have it plugged in constantly which i would not advise if your not in the car then no dont think so u would need a n outdoor security camera for that piinted at your vehicle u can get those pretty cheap on here we have an i door camera and an putdoor one just not fitted the outdoor one yet its a job on hubbys list ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Easy set up and super little gadget. *by J***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 March 2020* I was amazed at how easy this was to set up and even more impressed by the quality of the recordings. Instructions were clear and easy , unlike other gadgets I have purchased from China. The camera can be mounted on the windscreen or dashboard. I have tried out the windscreen and it was perfect but will give the dashboard a go as the lead won't be dangling so much. When I have decided which is best I can then make the fixings more permanent i.e. cover the lead. The lead to the camera is quite long so this should be an easy task. I was really surprised at how compact and well made the camera was and that it had so many additional settings e.g. drowsy driver alert, parking mode, motion sensor etc. I hadn't realised it could do so much. I have recently bought a new car and I am a bit fussy about where I park it at the moment so the parking motion sensor will be useful if somebody does knock the car while I am not in it. Might catch the culprit if they 'hit and run'. I am going to recommend this to my friends as it is a steal for the price I paid. I previously had £10 eBay one which was useless and flimsy. This is good quality and the camera picture is clear crisp and excellent. Purchased a £40 one for the family car and wish now I just got two of these. Much better. Easy to operate. Two options for the fixing via a clamp and also an adhesive strip. I opted for adhesive strip.All in all great value for money. Easy to set up - was up and running in less than 5 minutes. Doesn't come with an SD card but these are really cheap now. The one thing I would change was the cable provided. It comes with a cigarette lighter to Micro USB but I had to source my own USB to Micro USB cable. My car only has a cigarette lighter for internal power which I'm using for a twin USB socket attachment. This allows me to power my phone and has a spare USB which I can now use for this camera.
