Mowing a end of life cancer patient lawn hit hidden rock .** A: This King Kutter type of spindle has three mounting holes that are spaced 3 ad 1/4" apart from each other. The holes are roughly 1/4" in diameter. I would measure the one you have to see if it hast the same mounting footprint. Also in case you are not aware, these spindles have right hand threads on the blade bolts so they are reversed in their loosen and tighten method. This is a good product. I have used several of these. **Q: How do you determine when there is sufficient grease pumped into the spindle?** A: I have gone through many of these spindles and they consume a lot of grease. They run very hot. I run mine for sometimes 4 an d5 hours at a time. You can't easily tell when there is enough grease. I typically give them each about 12 to 14 pumps of grease. Some times you can see where the grease has slung out some later on but this is ok. Remember, too much grease is better than not enough. **Q: I have king kutter 5 ft finishing mower, my handbook states i need 502311, but 502303 is all i can find on line. will this fit?** A: Code 502311 was an old part number for a 5" diameter pulley used on the spindles, it was replaced with the 502313 pulley (4-1/4") pulley. the 502303 blade spindles are fitted with the newer style 502313 pulleys and the 502311 pulleys are no longer available. The newer pulleys will increase blade tip speed and mower performance and there is plenty of adjustment in the belt tensioning systle to take up the slack. It is perfectly ok to mix old and new style pulleys on your mower. Thank you **Q: Will this work on the 6' deck? The manual is not clear it list the number in second column as 502300. Thank you.** A: If your 6' mower is a single belt mower this is the correct spindle, if your has a banded double belt you will need the 502304 double belt pulley version of this spindle. The company responded that the smaller pulley is the only available replacement, and that King Kutter says that there is no issues noted with problems adjusting the belt tension. Well I'm noting that I am at the max adjustment and the belt is too loose (The belt is fairly new and was replaced with the factory OEM belt from King Kutter). I will have to notch out the slot in the deck with a torch to allow more adjustment.
