I ordered a sample bottle and wasn't overly impressed. It goes on smelling a little too soapy. But as time goes on in becomes more of a natural clean smell with a slight floral effect. It lasts a long while and seems to be reinvigorated when I exert myself. Gentle smell, not too over powering.

This was an impulse/splurge purchase. Full disclosure, a character in a book used this scent. I looked it up when looking up a few other things the character referred to in the story and saw that a number of preppy/rich female bloggers mentioned using the male cologne as their signature scent. I usually find a perfume in a store and try it for a day and then see how it is on me, ask for feedback from family members. However, I could not locate this in a store anywhere, and even looked in 3 states while traveling. My previous own signature scent I often get compliments on and after reading the online reviews of this, I thought the same would happen (adding that in a moment of snobbery, I liked the idea that it was a difficult scent to find). Needless to say, no compliments. It also seems VERY (and I mean VERY) feminine for being a man's cologne, so a part of me is questioning if there is a slim chance its a knock off.

Nice , fresh and subtle fragrance. Great to wear it all day. It is a one of the aspirational colognes for the evolved and the traditional gentleman of any age. I like it, although I wish it was a little more intense.
