## Overview

The COMP Cams 4914 Crankshaft Socket is a precision tool designed specifically for GM Gen III/IV LS-type engines, featuring a 1/2 inch drive for easy engine rotation and a knurled retaining nut for independent adjustments, making it essential for accurate TDC finding.

## Description

When slipped on the end of a crankshaft, these specially designed sockets let you use a 1/2 inch drive ratchet or breaker bar to rotate the engine assembly. Our sockets also have the unique feature of a provision to hold our degree wheels or any wheel with a 1 inch or larger center hole. The knurled retaining nut actually sandwiches the degree wheel and holds it in place. This can then be loosened while on the crank snout so that you can turn the degree wheel independent of the engine, which is really handy when finding TDC.

Review: This tool is perfect- TDunn Racing - Hopefully my review clears up all the wrong and confusing ones. You will revive the tool pictured on the right, the other on the left is a SBC sprocket and not correct. I’m sure revisions have been made to this tool over time to address some tolerance or application issues. I’m building an LS7 stroker and this socket is perfect! Machined very well with approx .003-.004 tolerance for a nice slip fit over oil pump gear and crank snout. My crank sprocket is longer 2009+ one piece cam sprocket style for a katech dry sump pump. You can see in the photos the key way is very long once slipped onto the socket and will work on LS3/LS7 no problem. On an LS7 dry sump this tool slides over the long crank snout and onto the oil pump gear by 3/8- 7/16 which is enough engagement to get the set screw to snug it up and start turning the crankshaft to degree the cam. Very happy with this tool and now on to purchasing the degree wheel of choice.
Review: Great fit. - Sturdy, nice quality and works perfectly
