Soffit Vent 4x12in White Oval

An excellent fit on the gaping hole some rodent caused. I put it up and caulked around the edges where a few small holes needed sealing. I would recommend their use, highly.

They do the job

Just so you know, I am a Realtor and my Sellers were required to replace 20 Soffit vents on a 13 year old home. I called the builder customer service people and they said I could find them on Amazon. He gave me the size, shape and color. I ordered 5 the first time to be sure they would fit. Then I order 20 more for the repair (5 extra). They were expensive ($9.12/each) but we justified the per item cost to the purchase price of the house - it was worth making a Buyer happy and selling the house. If you own one of the original style of homes by DiVosta in Florida, these vents will work perfectly. Easy to install - they snap right in. I have PRIME so delivery was quick.

The vent holes won't keep out smaller bugs as-is - I had to hot glue gun in some fiberglass screen into my vents. Not a knock on the product, but heed my warning. I did not have these oval holes and had to make them myself. My only soffit attic access is through a 2x8 board. Wow, it is tough to cut this oval shape through a 2x8 mounted in the soffit. I burned out 2 drills using a hole saw for the round portions, and eventually had to modify the vents to be rectangular, cutting rectangular holes with a sawzall. If you have a plywood soffit to vent, you won't have my troubles. See my photos. The oval vent in a green board is a case where I got the cut made OK (not beautiful I know). Another board just snapped as I was cutting the oval. I had to make a plywood face (it is primed white in my pictures) to repair this damage. You can see the screen I added around the vent edges.

Happy to find these soffit vent covers. No one had them around here to buy. went on line and found them. Now the birds will stay out. The old ones get dry and break easy and the birds must know, because they peck away at the bad ones. Then get into the roof. They were delivered fine great looking brand new. They do snap in with tabs, but now I am using clear silicone weather glue stuff. they use on car and rvs. Just to give it extra strength against the birds.

I had to replace my old vents and looked for these at Menards/Home Depot/Lowes and they did not have the oval ones. I found these and they fit right into place in the existing holes. Just push them in and they are good. I did paint mine with a sprayer to match the color and they look very good.
