With this hardwire kit I found that despite having the car untouched for 3 days, it worked very well without draining the battery.In fact, I find it works too well since it records even the slightest movements such as trees blowing in mild wind. I find that very useful the most since I leave it parked in some areas where incidents are bound to occur.Upon having this item for about 3 weeks, I found that:-The adhesive works well and doesn't budge-It does not drain the car battery despite not turning on the car in a while-Motion detection is very sensitive-Fits most dashcams so long as they use the mini usb port.-Easy installation, due to only having to plug into the OBDII port and hiding the wireI would definetly recommend this to anyone who needs a simple hardwire for their dashcam, and will update if any abrupt changes occur with this product.*Update as of 7/30/20*- The product still seems to be working fine- Adhesive has not diminished and is still strong- Is still as sensitive as previously mentionedOne distinct difference I have noticed, is that it MIGHT not prevent battery drainage. Due to the recent issues, I have left my car unattended for some periods of days/a week. Doing so seems to leave my car battery drained and unable to start. I replaced the original in car 12v power socket cable and it provides constant power to my dashcam. The motion detection is very sensitive. Even I knocked my side window and rear window, it will wake up on my dashcam and start recording. The installation is super easy. Just plugged into the obdii socket and it will work right the way. As long as your dashcam is powered by mini USB and dashcam park mode is set. It will automatically work when your car is turned off. I had my car parked on the street when I was in my 2 weeks vacation. It was triggered by multiple reasons and it didn't drain the battery. Hated having to use up a cig lighter plug or USB port to operate and hated having the wires dangling down. The only thing I would say is it would be great if it came with a micro usb to mini USB adapter as one of the cameras I have uses a micro usb. (I may be saying that backwards). But I just ordered some small adapters and plugged into the camera and it worked. Motion detection works good. Camera takes about a minute to turn off after you turn the car off.
