They cut great, but rust horribly. Have had them for probably 20 years, but am constantly removing rust spots from the blades. **Q: What's the handle mase of? Plastic, wood, silicone, etc?** A: The handle material is plastic **Q: Do these ever need to be sharpened?** A: I bought about 10 of them 7 years ago, and have yet to sharpen them. We use them daily. That said they could do with a sharpening, but at this price... Heck, even if they were more expensive, they're holding up phenomenally. Oh, and that's with them being washed in the dishwasher sometimes. **Q: How do you store these knifes? I'd think they would get dull in a drawer with the blades exposed.** A: I store mine in the cutlery drawer.
