Does this strip have a light indicator showing when power is on? Also, does it have a power switch?

It doesn't have a light; the power switch is right next to where the cord comes out of the main box (short end). You can't see it in the picture. It is recessed to keep it from being accidentally knocked, although bumping up against some kind of edge or point could possibly switch it off.

What is the wire gauge used in the cord?

14 AWG is stamped into the outside insulating cover which is the same for most all Belkin Outlet Power Strips that I have ever seen or used.
