    First four tracks are bulletproof.  Especially "Don't Be Afraid" and "Country Kills".  Very solid, lightly psychedelic sound throughout, with the production being a tad muddy - works in the band's favor though.  I really enjoy this album and am excited to hear what else these guys come up with.

    2nd album of New Zealand psychedelic power pop that incorporates a wealth of addictive, angsty hooks.  The songs are creative and as unpredictable as adherence to the genre allows.  Melodies exist in a beautifully  twisted, angular sound space that makes melancholy sparkle with crystal guitar notes and ringing, subtly edgy pop tunes.  Shades of XTC, Elf Power, Soft Boys/ Robyn Hitchcock, Mmoss, Stratford 4, the Chills, Crocodiles, Pinback, the Vaccines.  “Fortuna” is  a fresh & brilliant glimmer of indie psych/pop.
