This timer be it for a Kitchen usage is a great device, you set your timer and forget about it until it pleasantly reminds you your time is up. The alarm is pleasing unlike my Iphone which sounds like a bombs gone off when it alarms, therefore I don't use my phone for timing and use this great device. The display is simple LCD, simple is better and has no-frills, it just does the job and the battery life is exceptional. I use it everyday and it remains on permanently and has lasted 6 months, I would strongly recommend this not just for the Kitchen where you set timer for say a roast but for any other uses such as timing the kids homework and also how much break time you have for yourself until reality kicks back in.
