There’s a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe, basic brownies, pound cake, banana bread etc.Maybe this is good for someone with zero baking experience, but if you’re looking for exciting creative takes on baking classics, this is not your book. I'm good at baking but sometimes I feel like I'm more disorganized than I should be because of how the recipe is laid out. Maybe it's just my bad for not fully reading ahead, but this book tells you up front what you're in for. Ever get 5 steps in before you realize you need some crazy fancy cooking tool no one has just lying around? Lopez tells you all that stuff: how long the prep is, and whether there are any weird tools/ingredients. I love that there are also variations on a theme. Sure there is basic chocolate chip cookie recipe, but there are also a bunch of variations on mix-ins and ideas.I've made a ton of stuff in a short amount of time, and FWIW I have a FT job and a baby at home so if I can do it, you can too!The Better Than Supernatural Brownies got RAVE reviews when I made for friends and coworkers. I have loved the recipes that I’ve tried so far and can’t wait to keep experimenting. My favorite recipe so far has been the Creme Fraiche Scones... which is a little surprising to even me but they are unlike any other scone I’d ever tried☺️Not only are the recipes great, the images are stunning and the overall design is super cute.
