This can be used with or with out the bags I use the bags for coffee that is ground wellI like how it comes with all these extra partsWill deff buy againNot to mention loose tea is way more tasty then when you buy in the box not to mention you can control how concentrated the tea/coffee isBecause I like it strong but my family likes it lightAll you need is tea and hot water and it’s good to go
