For appearance and sturdiness I gave it four stars. For design it gets only one star as it is very difficult to adjust the position/angle of the adjacent sections. That is an issue for us as we will only use it when young children are visiting. It requires two hands and a bit of controlled strength. The instructions were rubbish and only got one star as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ a MUST if you have a baby or toddler! *by D***S on March 6, 2017* We have a large wood-burning stove on a hearth and this fits perfectly. My German-speaking father installed it for us and said he was amused by the directions, that were translated from German to English poorly. But he said if you can get passed the poor instructions it is a good product. My toddler has been pulling on the bars and gate for months now and they have stayed firmly in place on the walls. I keep wondering when it will break as he is definitely trying to break the cage, but it has not. Even when we have the fire pumping full bore, this does not get too hot. My shipment got delayed and they responded to my emails quickly and kindly, they also began emailing me with unsolicited updates just to keep me informed and I ended up getting one on time despite the shipping errors. And also offered further assistance once it arrived with the instructions... but I didn't need it because they were clear enough, and simple enough. Now I have the gate installed and it working marvelously! It does is job perfectly and looks nice too!
