A PARODY OF THE NATIONAL LAMPOON PARODY
A PARODY OF THE NATIONAL LAMPOON RADIO HOUR PARODY An angry, revealing portrait of the greatest rock artist in history--in extremis. Wenner squeezes out the resentment, the regrets, the delusions of grandeur (which probably weren't delusions at all), the acid-flashed memories of the band, the songs, the times. When the dust settles, this is a portrait of the artist as a flawed, angry man baring it all, confessing much, and distilling down to vapors the toxic slurry of fame, rock and roll fantasy, and genius.

Fascinating musician lost too soon
Having the original Fawcett Library ISBN:0-445-08191-0 paperback of 1971, I was disappointed to find the very many photos omitted. Further, parts of the interview had been edited out. Nevertheless it is a fascinating read and provides the names of the speakers, that is Yoko and John. Once again, as an octagenerian Liverpudlian, I can hear John talking as I play an LP from the old days😂

Compelling
You might not hold Lennon in such high esteem after reading this……fragile, unkind and drug addled were my takes…..but his music surpasses any faults he may have had, and his iconic status will endure for all the right reasons.

A Hard Day's Gripe....
This was a fun read. A day in the gripes of John Lennon. Very interesting to see what he was thinking at the moment of the release of the Plastic Ono Band album, my personal favorite of his solo work. I was entertained and feel like I know the artist as a human being a bit more. Nice.

Gripping.
Must read for any Beatle fan. 1970 Rolling Stone interview. John was certainly bitter and talks openly about the band's break up and subsequent careers. Spoiler alert...he expresses strong dislike for Paul and dismisses George's musical talents while remaining relatively positive about Ringo.

Troubadour of Change
The Times they Were a Changin. Where is John Lennon when we need him now? Who is our Troubadour for Now? This books is a precious and frankly sacred remembrance of a person who left us way too soon.
