Mosuch USB Charger Cable For Nintendo Wii U Gamepad Controller

I got this cable as a replacement for the gamepad cable that is on Nintendo's official gamepad charger. It was easy to desolder the old one from the power supply board and solder this one once the USB connector was cut off.(the red wire in this replacement cable is positive) The original cable was bent too many times and stopped working, making it appear as if the power supply was dead when it was in fact the cable that was bad. I actually thought this was a 10 foot cable and ordered it and realized I may have read the description for another cable and ordered this one instead. I liked the build quality so I used it anyway.

This worked perfectly and I love that the cost is low. My son's have gone through three different charges, and all three times they have broken, or the wire frays and splits. So far this is holding up, and I like the fact that it can be charged with a USB connector. It charges the Wii U pad quickly and so far no problems.

Awesome! I got this product shipped pretty quickly. Was in good condition when I received it. Was good priced and works great. This is my second time buying the same product in two years my 9yr old is very hard on these cords and my cat chewed up the original one which has nothing to do with the product itselfbut is why I had to replace it again. its a great price!

The internal battery of my Nintendo Wii U Gamepad needs to be recharged after about 3 hours of game play. The cable of the Nintendo charger is too short, and it is inconvenient to swap the charging cable between the Gamepad and its docking station. That's why I purchased this item ( USB Charger Cable For Nintendo Wii U Gamepad Controller ), so that I can recharge the Gamepad from any USB port. The input of the Nintendo Gamepad is rated '4.75V 1.6A'. It is perfectly safe to power it from a standard 5V USB port using this cable. The actual charging current I measured (using the DROK Dual-USB Gauge ) is under 0.8A. That means any USB charger rated for 1A or more will do the job. For maximum portability, I prefer to recharge my Gamepad using a power bank such as the Jackery Bar . The Gamepad's internal battery has a capacity of 1500mAh. So an external 5600mAh power bank should provide 3x longer runtime, assuming 80% efficiency in power conversion. There is, however, a discrepancy in cable length. The Amazon description says: 'Length: Approx 31.50"'. The actual cable I received is about 10 feet long, or nearly 4x the length. I have no problems with that. At least it is better than expecting a long cable but getting a short one.

Works fine and has been for a month now. I bought two of them just in case the first malfunctioned and I haven't had to take the second one out of the bag. The only small issue is that the charging light indicator flickers on and off sometimes but that can usually be fixed by simply unplugging it and replugging it. All and all a good buy especially if you are in dire need of a replacement charge. (Does not come with USB Wall adapter)

Just recieved it in the mail today and plugged it right in with different USB adapters in different outlets and has not worked at all. Very disappointed. EDIT: tried to return it but Amazon is charging me $5.00 for a six dollar purchase, beyond appalling.

Good substitute but prone to breaking, and slow to charging unless you have a something like an ipad wall adapter. Ours worked for 3 months as a main charger. If you really want an alternative way to charge you're game-pad this is a decent buy. If you need a replacement, I highly recommend getting an official refurbished or new game-pad charger from the Nintendo store website, like we ended up doing.
