My wife is pleased with the unit. **Q: can I use this to measure oven temperature?** A: Hello, You can not leave it in the oven since the thermometer is a spot check thermometer, and not a leave-in oven thermometer. Regards, Mary Kizen Customer Service **Q: I lost my instructions on how to change the battery and care for the thermometer what do I do?** A: Owner's manual says to change battery, use a coin to open battery compartment on the back. The battery type us use must be a 3V CR2032. You will see a C shaped metal on the left side of battery compartment. Insert battery at angle against the C shaped metal and press battery down. You will know your battery is properly installed if battery does not fall out when you turn thermometer over without battery door. If it does fall out, it means you need to reinsert it until it is lodged enough for it not to fall out. Once battery is secure, use a coin to press down and twist the battery door back on. To care for thermometer, wash only metal probe by hand & do not immerse completely in water.
