The number at the bottom of the cartridge could be the ink color code. **Q: Does this work with the Acme crayon pen?** A: Yes- the crayon style pen is still a roller ball-takes this refill **Q: Will this refill fit my parker pen?** A: I don't think so. When first shopping for refills I found they were around $3 each from ACME, then I found Schmidt 888 refills at Amazon that I could get for less than $1 each. For months I used them and thought they were OK, but I recently decided t try the authentic ACME refills and compare. They were $2.40 each ($12 for 5). The ACME refills have a steady ink flow and last much longer. The Schmidt refills sometimes had an irregular flow and only seemed to last a few days. I have not determined how to order a medium point instead of fine point with the ACMEs, so maybe they are only available in fine. The Schmidt were available in fine or medium.
