## Overview

SENNELIER D'artigny Oil Pastel Sprayfix is a premium aerosol fixative made from vinyl resin and alcohol base, designed to protect oil pastel artworks by creating a transparent, glossy, and dust-free film. Ideal for professional artists seeking to preserve their creations without altering color or texture, this 400ml spray offers smooth application and trusted durability.

## Description

Protect your oil pastel creations with this Oil Pastel Fixative; it is totally transparent and leaves a clear, glossy film to protect finished artwork over time.

Review: Perfect for oil pastel drawings - Works really well on my oil pastel drawings. It makes the surface more durable but this is not like armor. It'll keep the surface from smearing if something ribs against it but it is soft enough to rework or scrape the oil pastel underneath if you need to. If you put it on heavy I noticed some of the dark blue pigments in my Myungyo Gallery oil pastels "float" and separate out from others. The key to preventing that is very light coats. The fumes are such that I strongly prefer to spray a drawing with this outdoors. But it is not an instant asthmatic trigger for me, unlike some other spray fixes. It does not wrinkle the paper, unlike alcohol-and-casein based fixes. This along with the easier to deal with fumes makes it my favorite oil pastel fixative.
Review: Worth the Price - Extremely Expensive but I wouldn't trust my oil pastels to any other fixative and is the only one I recommend to my students.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the fixative add gloss or discolor either paper or oil pastels?**
A: yes it does add a little bit of gloss a tiny bit. if you use to munch yes it will fold paper. you want to do in small doeses over couple of day as long as you dont use too munch. that being said this is the best brand for this. the other brands will do even more damage so just be conservative with it. As long as you dont go overbored you will be ok. you can also do a test run on small paste to see how it works for you.

**Q: Will this work on an oil pastel over acrylic mixed media piece?**
A: Yes, great product though the actual spray nozzle is a nightmare and needs serious attention from Sennilier asap

**Q: Will this fixative allow oil pastels to remain unframed behind glass?**
A: Well, idk, sure fix them and put glass over ~ seems a waste of glass and fixative ~ ya don't need glass with Sennlier OP fixative.

**Q: Can I continue to make changes to my piece after I use this product?**
A: no. it covers with a plastic-like finish that will not take add-ons.
