Have found conservatively speaking that the charge lasts for most of 3 - 4 consecutive 6 - 8 hour shifts before needing a charge. Charges pretty quickly on the DeWalt charging unit made for this battery - maybe an hour or so at most to full charge (after recommendation to do lengthier charge out of the box - although mine worked right away when installed directly). If you wanted to go all out and buy a 2nd battery, you'd be covered continuously.
