Thanks** A: Old query, but for newbies: this would work as well to keep the A/C air away from the window pane, thus it would insulate heat as well as cold. It's just physics. It forms a dead air space just like a storm window (if you know what those are up north). You could leave it on, but probably would not last permanently. I don't see how you could use glue; it is intended to be mounted only with the double stick tape provided in the box.
