Review: Simple, effective and no batteries or other costs - My cats were already used to the concept of the lid opening as they approach, so no training was required. I've had battery operated sensor lid feeders for a while but one stopped working. After considering getting the same model as a replacement I decided to try this instead. Apart from occasionally standing on the platform myself (limited space in the kitchen) it's perfect. I put a deep ceramic dish inside because my cat always licks the food over the top of a shallow dish. Easy to clean and no batteries required, simple but effective, especially in the recent heat - keeping flies out of the bowl. I'll be replacing the other battery operated dish with one of these too!
Review: did not work - Although a well made, robust product, it did not function as expected. In order for the lid to open, my cat had to be positioned with her chest right up against bowl. Only then would her feet/weight be able to operate the lifting of lid. This was not a natural position, which completely defeated the object of her eating as and when she chose. Flies still laid eggs along the rim edge where lid and bowl meet with some eggs actually sitting on treat ledge. Sadly had to return. Will stick to my net food cover!

**Q: Can I use my own bowl in the top instead of the plastic see through small bit?**
A: You could but would have to be less than 5 inches in diameter.  It's quite deep about 2.5 inches so cat would have to put it's head right in and depending on size of cat this maybe a bit uncomfortable.  The bowl it comes with is perfect and also better for eating preventing reflux and vomiting.

**Q: Is this item suitable for kittens or is it too tall for them to use?**
A: A kitten will be to light to operate the pedal lid . I have a fully grown cat and it finds it difficult to open sometimes.

**Q: Can i purchase a spare lid for the pedaldish. Mine has broken**

A: The cat weight will be enough to keep it open   Train it to sit on the ramp and eat. It’ll soon get the message.

This is amazing, I am so dissapointed that they have been discontinued, had I have known I would have bought more. Can't find these or anything like it anywhere. Best idea and food dish for my cat, ever! Please tell me where I can get one. I have tried everywhere including eBay, Facebook, Groupon, all over, nowhere to be found. 😥
