There's a button on the side which you click into three different position to achieve three different setting for the water pressure. Others have a 'dial' mechanism, which got jammed or would not align correctly into position after some time* While the pressure is strong, it is not hurtful on skinI do not have the ability to test the purification claim, but I do feel a HUGE difference when I wash my hair with it, mainly to rinse it off with a little more pressure.
