Escali Extra Large Display Digital Bathroom Scale for Body Weight with Easy-to-Read Display and Non-Slip Platform, Extra-High Capacity of 440 lb, Batteries Included

This is the second time I've purchased an Escali XL200. The only reason I had to buy another one is because the old one got submerged in some water due to a leak in the bathroom. That scale had been accurate and consistent the 3 or 4 years that we had it. All you have to do is tap on top of the scale in order for it to calibrate, then you're good to go. Once you stand on it, your weight is displayed in 1 or 2 seconds. As the description says, the display is extra large. It's not backlit, but the LCD display is easily read in normal bathroom lighting. My late father had congestive heart failure, so it was very important that he weigh himself daily before breakfast or any drinks. His fluid intake per day was strictly limited to a specific amount, so an increase of 5lbs or more in a short amount of time meant that he was retaining fluid. I relied on this scale to know when my father would need diuretics to void any extra fluid or when to consult his physician. This scale never failed us in its consistency and accurateness. The only downside to this scale is that the platform is not flat. Towards the end, my father became less ambulatory and his ability to stand unassisted severely decreased. The surface slightly curves downward from the center, so it made standing/balancing for him a bit more difficult. If you're an individual without mobility issues, this design shouldn't be a problem. Build wise, it's made of hard plastic which is pretty sturdy. When the old one broke down, I used a 10lb sledge hammer to break it apart to better fit it in the trash. Surprisingly, the outer case just wouldn't break even after a few good hits. Someone complained in their review that the scale that they received was scratched and gouged. There is a protective film on top of the screen which may make it appear that way. The film is applied pretty well, so you have to pick at the edges to remove it. As for battery life, they don't need to be changed very often. I don't even remember when i changed the old one. It uses a pair of CR2032 lithium batteries. You can get a five pack of Energizer brand for just a few dollars on Amazon. Much cheaper than a B&M store.

Only used a half a dozen times and now it does not work at all. Less than 200 lbs so not sure why it does not work.

I am 88 cant lift heavy items, this scale is nice and light, Numbers are large so vision is good to see the #. Its a very nice pretty scale also. Price was good also.

I received the scale, which comes with batteries, by the way. I don't remember seeing that listed anywhere. I'm considerably less than the maximum weight capacity of the scale, but every time I step on the seemingly all-plastic scale, I'm glad I'm not closer to the limit. With it being all plastic (as far as I can tell), it feels kind of flimsy. I'm not sure how well this is going to hold up, long-term. BUT, it's helping me track my weight, which is what I wanted, and it seems fairly accurate (or at least consistent). So, I'll stick with it for now. Maybe I'll try a "better" scale at some future time...

Clear display

Owned a lot of different bathroom scales during my 77 years. This is by far the best !!!! Resolution of the reading is 0.2 pounds. It will give the same reading over and over again. Drink a 3 oz cup of water (0.2 lb) and the next reading will be 0.2 pound greater. Truly amazing. Extra large numbers remain on for about 5 seconds after you step off the scale, making it easy to read. The only negative is that that the surface area should have been made a little bit bigger. This is not a problem for me (I weigh 250) , but a larger person with bigger feet might find it difficult to stand on it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I am not happy with this scale at all, It works when you first get it, but then when you pick it up and put it back down it give you random numbers, and so I have to tilt it back and forth to get it to go back to 0.0. And I have had this for a year and it just stopped working. For $50.00 you should make a better scale that lasts. I would NOT purchase again.

Unfortunately, this scale did not meet our expectations and had to be returned. The first disappointment was discovering several scratches and two large gouges in the plastic digital display thus rendering the product ugly and repulsive right out of the box. Then we discovered the unit is so small that while standing on it, your feet cover the digital display. And finally, the product return procedure required us to drive the return package across town to a UPS drop-off point even though it was delivered to our door by USPS. Between the lack of quality control, poor design with apparent no regard for the size of people's feet, and the annoyance of having to provide package transportation, we are highly dissatisfied with this experience. Therefore, we can't recommend this product and suggest it be avoided. A much better option would be to examine the actual product before making a purchase from a brick & mortar store.

This has a big display but only does kilos and pounds. Feels cheap and plastic. Overpriced at 40 plus quid. Don't bother

Cheap and nasty sent back

I would highly not recommend this scale to anyone! Paid a high price to find out that it had only worked for a month. I had to change the batteries every week. These are not cheap batteries to buy as well. The other issue is that they made the display large which is good, but very poor space to put your feet on comfortably. Very much lacks space for your feet to properly fit onto the platform. Very unhappy with this product. Worst scale I have ever bought!! Seriously take my advice and purchase another type of scale!!!
