It is very bright. It's like daylight inside the square beam. Really good for around 50 yards or 150 ft. **Q: I've used this flashlight maybe 3 times and now when I have it on the brightest power setting it flashes like a strobe. Everyone who sees mine wants one! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brighter with AA batteries but it's a dissappoointment over the older 165-Lumen model *by B***N on February 3, 2015* Just a foreword, square flashlights are not for everyone. It creates a projection beam which keeps light consistent throughout the frame. I currently own both the 165-lumen Bone Collector HD torch and now this 330-lumen Rubicon T300L (the one pictured).Pros (330-Lumen Version):It's brighter than the 165-Lumen model but the difference is not very significant.It uses standard 4xAA batteriesWell-builtHas bright, low, and red modesCons (330-Lumen Version):The HD square is not a consistently lit box like the 165-Lumen version. I can see faint criss-crossing lines inside the square frame of light.There's also a clover-like halo around the square. It doesn't eliminate stray light as well as the 165-Lumen version.The light can be triggered with slight pressure against the rubber button. If you carry this in a backpack, the batteries could drain if you're not careful.I don't like how the battery cap is designed. You have to hold the cap steady to make sure the screw threads align. The battery cap on the 165-lumen is easier to access.Comparison (330-Lumen vs 165-Lumen):The color temperature of the Rubicon is a bit cooler (blue).The 165-Lumen version uses CR123A batteries. They run expensive and the rechargeable versions don't last long.The size of the square is roughly the same between both models when held side by side. If you hold it 42 inches away, it will project a 12x12 inch box. There is no way to adjust the projection box size by twisting the lens. You have to stand far back to project a big box.tl;drThe Rubicon solved one problem that the Bone Collector 165-lumen had which were the 2x CR123A batteries. The overall quality of light, however goes to the 165-lumen Bone Collector Bushnell.
