The back of the packaging says this is suitable for brushing a rabbit, but I've never groomed a rabbit, so I don't know about rabbits.But I do know about Siberian Huskies - I refer to mine as a "hair-growing machine." He is very well-protected from the most inclement cold weather, but overheats in the summer. Huskies, like some other breeds of dogs, have a rough and coarse outer coat, which repels wind and water, and an absolutely amazing "undercoat," which provides insulation. In the summer, they shed ... and shed ... and shed ... and shed. I have pulled plastic shopping bags full of hair out of my Husky at one brushing, only to do the same thing on the next day. These types of dogs definitely need hair ... and hair ... and hair ... brushed out of their coats.This rake has 13 tines, each about 3/4 of an inch long. This is long enough, but not too long, to reach down to the undercoat, and pull the loose hair out. The rake is 6 inches long, fits in my hand comfortably. It has a hard rubber handle with soft rubber gripping "ribs" along the side of the handle. I find this rake easy to grip securely.The pictures of the pets on the packaging of this rake are short-haired cats and dogs, which I would not think this rake would be suitable for. However, it is a "must have" item for a Siberian Husky.
