This new design for the swivi allows for easy connection and multi-angle shooting. The LCD screen swings out and up 180° and tilts up to 270° allowing the photographer to see what is being shot without having to be directly behind the camera or at eye level. Additional features include a peaking mode to verify sharp focus, Live Zoom In and Zoom Out functions, HDMI in/out allowing a second monitor (both can be viewed at the same time), as well as stereo speakers and a plug 3.5mm jack to accept external headphones. The swivi accepts 1 or 2 Canon LP-E6 type batteries. Using 2 batteries doubles the run time. A ball head adapter is also included as the LCD screen can be detached from the base and mounted on top of the camera or a bracket. You can't remove the monitor from the base that came with it and expect it to work. I wanted to use it on my hot shoe, but it goes off when I remove it from the base. God forbid the little battery release breaks off, you'll never get the batteries out. It won't work with just one battery. It takes two. The menu doesn't work. It's made of cheap plastic. I changed my rating from a 1 to a 3 because it is useful but bulky. It may work better with a Canon. I think that's what it was really made for. If you get it, find a flexible HDMI cord or the stiff cord it came with will get in your way. I will admit the monitor is better than the live view on my Nikon. Screen is bigger. One more thing that is annoying. When you turn this on, at least on the Nikon, your live view stays on. Annoying to say the least. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Swivi Design Fail *by A***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2015* I've owned this product for about a year. Used it maybe 5 times as idony get to shoot that much. Today I'm sitting infront of a dead Swivi. The issue? The battery tray slides in and out on a guided rail which then makes electrical contact to some pins inside the body of the battery holder. The electrical connection is very poorly designed for a product costing $350+. The issue with mine is that the rail that guides the battery to make an electrical connection inside the body must not be guiding well which caused the battery tray to smash two of the pins.I will try and fix it the best I can but this is quite disappointing as its a great idea. When it works it works well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Slow on the draw, but a sharp shot! *by R***K on Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2014* Bought this monitor because I am spoiled with the tilt out LCD screen on my T5i Rebel. It does provide an excellent image that not only is very clear, easy to view from any angle, left/right or up/down. But it does take a couple of seconds to display an image from the camera. Being new to HDMI devices, this may be an inherent trait of this technology. Nevertheless, it is a bit annoying as it does happen not only on initial hookup, but also after the camera take the shot. Another quark is the sunscreen's inability to stay connected to the screen. When trying to move the monitor's angle, the sunscreen pops off easily. I was going to send it back for a refund, but after realizing it was the only item available with a quality image, I submitted to living with these little annoyances. On the plus side, it does use the exact same batteries that my Canon D6 uses and on top of that, you can use two in the slide out battery tray. This gives you more time to operate the LCD screen. Regarding it's selling price, don't know whether it's high or not. I am new to HDMI stuff and all this super high resolution technology.
