Old Sounds + New Beats = Fun

*by J***D on February 16, 2013*

Unlike IED, this album hit all my FLA comfort nerve endings immediately. It has a lot of old FLA type of sounds that we heard in the 90's but mixes those nicely with more recent beats, glitchy and warbling like dubstep. There are virtually no samples from movies here, so it differs from old FLA in that regard. There is a lot of old analog sounding stuff. [Everything That Was Before] really reminds me of Bladerunner in the beginning. There are a few motifs that are carried across all songs and I have a feeling that was for continuity in the game. It works, though. I really like this one and it will hold me nicely until something with vocals and a punch-you-in-the-throat bass line arrives (crossing fingers).

I love it. Those of you that loved the Delirium ...

This is not a vocal album and frankly, I love it. Those of you that loved the Delirium and Cryogenic Studio's co-ops, may find this album appealing. There's some soft stuff but not ambient. There is hard stuff, but soft enough to enjoy.AirMech (the game this was made for) was a great indie game but was ultimately changed to the point of unplayable.

    Great album simple as that

Long time FLa fan here, and lucky to have more than 50 leeb related cds and projects.this is a great album, and the absence of vocals only makes it that much better in my opinion. being a fan of all leebs projects (fla. delerium pro tech, equinox etc) i knew what to expect and was not let down one bit. amazing production value as usual on what seems a natural fit for the fla sound. even the absence of movie samples did not bother me one bit, as there is enough to take in already. the album dosent really seem to re hash any older song concepts (although you can catch a hint of "vanishing horizons" in track 6 around 445 breakdown and some delerium esque chorus in another track and i swear a litle bit of Trainspotting's credit scene music in the intro to track 7 lol) ) yet still feels undeniably leeb like. The build ups are brutal, the breaks on point, and nothing seems too drawn out in terms of intros or overall lenghth. This album as a whole has tracks that are some of the best structured Fla tracks ever, in my opinion, easily taking you in to its vibe, and as a gamer the tracks easily convey where their placement would be in the actual Air mech game. Its hard to pick a favorite (though tracks 3,4, and 8, 10 are up there), but like some of my favorite Fla albums, Flavour of the weak, implode, and epitath, its easy to to put in the cd and listen start to end.All i can say is i love the vibe of this cd, and would love to hear more (maybe some tracks that didnt make the cut) of this style. Good for the chill out sessions, the long gaming sessions, or while you are building something/exerting yourself. Just cant get enough of this album. IF you are a true Fla or leeb fan then this is a no brainer.
