Single Motorcycle Carrier Without a Loading Ramp

Review: VersaHaul Motorcycle Carrier, no ramp or light option - Very well made, (in the USA, I believe)! I looked at several competitor carriers and opted to spend more for a higher quality carrier. Easy to assemble, good illustrated instructions, nice powder coat finish, very well packaged and came through with no damage from the freight carrier(s). The patented anti rattle / rocking bracket works very well! I ordered the carrier w/o ramp as I already had a bike ramp that I just set on the cross bars used to fasten tie down straps. The one down side [really nothing against VersaHauler carriers] is that many of the HD pick up trucks now for sale come with 2.5" and even 3" receivers. My Super Duty has a 2.5" receiver so I needed to make a 2" to 2.5" adapter to align with the 2" draw bar tongue that the VersaHauler comes standard with. I tried to call VersaHauler to see if they offered a 2.5" variant but no one answered phone nor was I able to leave a message. VersaHauler, please consider offering units with 2.5" or 3" main bars. Very pleased with this purchase! Makes transporting my CRF so much more convenient then dragging out my trailer or having to load bike in the bed of the truck.

**Q: Will this work with my 2013 Jeep Wrangler with the spare tire still on the back?**
A: Pin to center of rail: 21.5 in.,  they aslo have a main tubes that are 6" longer.  It is called the VH-Custom 001.

**Q: Does it come with a loading ramp?**
A: No I used the one I got from a cheap Chinese hauler I bought. Veasrahauler is way better

**Q: Would the versahaul ramp be long enough to comfortable load motorcycle mounted on back of motorhome (higher than car/truck) ?**
A: If you vehicle is high off the ground then buy a VH-SPORT RK loading ramp it is nearly 6' long.  The VH-55 RK loading ramp is 5' long.Both ramps work with the VH-55 and the VH-SPORT carriers.  See the manufacturer's website for more details.  They even have ramp loading charts.

**Q: Why do they claim it can pull a trailer when there is no way to mount a hitch on the back and no hole for the pin?**
A: There is a hole, I mounted my bike rack in it. You are limited to a lower tongue weight because of the extended hitch.

### ⭐⭐ Not Worth The Extra Money

I was in the market for a carrier for my Dirtbike. I was looking for one that was reliable since, I am constantly traveling long distances with my Dirtbike. I purchased a VersaHaul and a Black Widow carrier. The reason I purchased both of these carriers is I wanted to compare the two. I am not a paid reviewer. Nor am I getting anything in return for this review. Just giving my perspective on the two carriers. I will give you the Pro's and Con's of both the VersaHaul and Black Widow carrier since I had the opportunity to use them both. I will begin with the VersaHaul carrier. Pro's Made in the USA Easy to assemble Box was shipped with everything in place and well thought out Has an attachment slot if you wish to add a bicycle carrier Sturdiness is a 3.0 out of 5 with 5 being Perfect Now the Cons of the VersaHaul Expensive for what you get No Wheel Choke just a small lip in front Small side rails on ramp which makes it easy for the bike to bounce or slide off carrier if not secured properly No ramp included with base VersaHauler. Upgraded VersaHaul for $110 over base price and you will get a Ramp Length is only 70 inches which may cause issues for individuals carrying larger bikes. Cost wise it is Double the price of the Black Widow Carrier The screws provided don't appear to be very large making them easy to begin to loosen if you don't add lock tight Pro's of the Black Widow Motorcycle Carrier Affordable costing less than $300 You can opt for the Aluminum Carrier which will not rust over time (Bonus) Comes with a motorcycle ramp (Bonus) Will fit larger bikes (Bonus) Just as Sturdy as the VersaHaul if not sturdier Has side rails on carrier which helps stops the bike from sliding off (Bonus) Sturdiness I give 4.5 out of 5.0 with 5.0 being Perfect Has wheel choke which prevents bike from ever sliding over the front (Bonus) Cons of Black Widow Carrier Not USA Made Pieces are just placed in the box without no thought Missing instructions which I had to Download from Website Will take longer to assemble Heavy weighing almost 60lbs My overall view of both carriers are they are both good. For the money you will have to decide which works for you. You can purchase two Black Widow Carrier's for the price of one VeraHaul Carrier and still have money in your pocket. Neither rack I would feel comfortable hauling anything more than a Dirtbike on it. The claim carrying capacity of VersaHaul Carrier is 500lbs and Black Widow Carrier is 600lbs. If you love your motorcycle you would not place anything over 300lbs on either carrier. You will need to purchase a ramp should you decide to purchase the base VersaHaul carrier.
