Recently upgraded to 400/400 with FiOS and was reading that CAT5e could only handle so much volume, nothing past 200 from what I found. Did speed tests comparing the older cable vs these new CAT8 cables. From Modem to Router, Wireless was around 300 down on phones, 50 down on Qualcomm wireless PC card. It was identical results from both cables. Old & New cable to router with Old & New cable to PCs Killer Ethernet card resulted in 550ish Down. Once again, identical results. Modem directly into PC Ethernet, both cables provided identical results not much over 550mbp/s.All in all I'm going to keep these cables, only because I needed shorter ones anyway for clutter, plus an extra one for my PC. However, if you have CAT5e cables, don't bother upgrading as they provided almost exact results. The only difference between the CAT5e and the CAT8 was the CAT8 provided near immediate speeds while the CAT5e took about 5 to 7 seconds to build up to max.
