If you are going from a mixer into an amplifier, simply unplug the input cable on the amplifier. If the hum is still present, put the IL-19 on the output side of the amplifier. If a cord is unshielded somewhere prior to the mixer, I'd definitely replace the cord. It's always good to try to trace the source of that hum. IL-19s work wonderfully. **Q: Is this for line level or speaker level?** A: Line level only. Plugging the IL-19 inline between an amplifier and speaker would damage the IL-19. **Q: Is connecting this device between my scarlett audio interface and mic cable will eliminate the hum that i'm having?** A: I have used this device not because I wanted to but I couldn't figure out at the time what is going on with the electric grounding. If you connect all devices to the same ground or power source and if you are still having an issue, I would check the cable and mic in use. Not sure the interface is part of the problem. But I would try to eliminate other possibility before resorting to this device. But when used, this actually eliminated the hum noise and if I can remember between an instrument and the rack. The DI box didn't help there either. This device worked. I don't know if I just got a bad unit, but this introduced additional noise to my recordings. I can't think of how I could have used it incorrectly.
