## Description

Product description Since its debut in 2011, the Porthole has gained significant attention, even finding a permanent space in the MoMa Design Store. Originally created as a custom piece for the bar chefs at The Aviary in Chicago, IL, it has been featured in dozens of magazines and blogs, including the cover of Food Arts magazine. Early versions of the Porthole were hand-crafted in a small batch at Crucial Detail but, due to enthusiastic response to the piece, was adapted for higher volume manufacturing and launched as a Kickstarter campaign in August of 2012. Following an overwhelmingly successful campaign, the Porthole went on to win the Global Innovation Award for Best Product Design. Review: Buy it already! Easy and fun way to experiment with your cocktails! - LOVE it! I saw (and partook in) the Port Hole at a resort in Mexico where they offered different infusions each day. Beautiful design, easy to clean and use. I’ve had it for just over a week and have infused 3 batches of tequila thus far, 2 of which were great. First up was the Garden Party Limonada included in the listing. Just subbed in tequila for vodka. Fantastic mixed with a little sparkling water. Next up, I tried the Maria Felix in the recipe book - not a fan. Third infusion was simply combining flavors I know I like - strawberry, fresh basil, lemon juice and simple syrup. Mixed that infusion with water and a little Firecracker Farms Three Kings salt. Delish! Great with regular salt too. Currently have blackberry, sage and lemon juice working in the fridge.
Review: Gorgeous and functional infuser - This little glass device absolutely stepped up my bar game. Not only is it great for infusing with fruits, spices, and more, but it’s a stunning show piece for entertaining. Seasonal infusions make for lovely dinner or cocktail party displays that guests can drink. In addition to being beautiful and functional, the porthole is easy to clean and store. It even looks nice empty, displayed on a bar cart!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this authentic martin kastler or replica; judging by the so-so reviews, i'm thinking replica?**
A: I have two of these. One purchased directly from Crucial Detail / Martin Kastner, and one from Amazon. Same product / no concern of replica. Minimal difference in price, so if you still have concern, just order from Crucial Detail directly.

**Q: How do you sterilise this product?**
A: Thank you for being part of our Porthole community. The Porthole is dishwasher safe and can also be steamed for sterilization.

**Q: My porthole infuser leaks, what can I do?**
A: Hi. The best way is to contact us at Crucial Detail at info@crucialdetail.com for troubleshooting and replacement parts directly.

**Q: How do i get the glass off? Ive removed both hex screws but the glass wont budge... Halp!**
A: Thanks for being part of our Crucial Detail Porthole community! Here are a couple tips for removing the glass when it is tight.
Quick Tip:
Cover screw holes with fingers and blow air into the Porthole spout with mouth to release the tension.
Longer Term Tip:
The plastic will loosen with use. Lay the glass flat on the counter (on a towel to avoid damaging glass) and insert the body over the glass with a bit of force. Then push the glass back out, repeating the whole process a few times on both sides before using with liquid.
