I first found out about it in a consumer report about the most valid and reliable pedometers and the model I bought was rated the highest. It was extremely accurate, and I had it for several years. I lost it about a month ago on an airplane. So I went to the consumer website again to find out what is the best pedometer available today. This one was rated second, but I got it because (a) I trusted the brand, and (b) it had the strap. My only complaint with my first Digiwalker was that when I would change clothes (or go to the restroom), the pedometer would fall off of my clothes. On the occasion I was lucky enough to get an entire row to myself on the plane and stretched out, the pedometer fell off, went under the seat, and I didn't realize that I had lost it until I was long gone. The Digiwalker SW-200 is just as valid and reliable, but the strap catches it before it hits the ground on those occasions that it wants to fall. I was looking for a pedometer with a cover so the count couldn't be reset accidentily. I bought this as a replacement for my old Yamax which became unusable when the pin that holds the clip to the step-counter part of the pedometer became dislodged and lost. I did re-order a pin for the old pedometer and fixed it. I continued to use the old pedometer for a few months, but the same problem happened again. I would have lost the pedometer completely had it not been for the leash. Since I was able to utilize the original for about four years before it became unusable, I find this product to be of decent quality and value.
