If needed, you can take the end caps off of your old brushroll, and put them on the new one. I have both a 30+ year old Sanitaire and one that is just a few years old. They both have the same brushroll. I just pop the ends off the older one so a new brushroll would fit, as it was a slide in shape, not a hex shape. **Q: Does it fit sc886g?** A: In my view this shouldn't be advertised as "universal". I have 3 Eureka /Sanitaire uprights and it didn't fit any of them. Just a hair too long for any of them...even if "forced" into place...would not rotate. I returned it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super bien gracias *by J***O on 5 August 2026* Muy bien gracias ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pre *by X***L on 23 March 2026* It fits perfectly, it has worked very well since I bought it, and it's still in perfect condition for the demands I place on it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fits old (circa 1990) Sanitaire S650-A perfectly; comes with rubber bearings *by P***G on 6 August 2022* As the title says, this was an exact replacement for my ancient Sanitaire S650 and it comes with the rubber end-caps so no need to buy those separately. It should be obvious, but to me it was not, that these brushes wear down. The new brush has bristles about a centimeter long, the old one about 6 millimeters -- in short, the old brush was 40% shorter than the new one. Put this and a fresh bag in, and it is a whole new "driving experience" -- really does its job and much harder to push! BTW, the motor turns counter clockwise if you are looking up at it from the bottom, and you want the brush to turn from front to rear. This should be enough info to set the drive belt correctly so the brush turns the right way. (I took a sharpie and marked the direction of rotation on the plastic impeller cover so I would remember.) Also, the groove for the belt is not in the center. It goes under the break in the slot in the metal cover.
