## Description

Product Description This is an add-on receiver only designed to work with newer AVS-5811 system. (newer AVS-5811 has an external dipole antenna) Part number AVS-5813 does not include manual since this is only a receiver and needs the AVS-5811 to work which comes with a manual. From the Manufacturer The 5.8 GHz wireless video/audio receiver wirelessly transmits vivid video and hi-fi stereo sound from a VCR, TV set, LD, DVD, VCD, Satellite Receiver or cable set top box to any TV or monitor. It can also be used in conjunction with a camcorder or CCD camera and turns into a wireless security monitoring system. As to the transmission capability, the signal can go up to 400 feet clear line-of-sight and can even penetrate walls. With the built-in IR remote extender, it allows the user to remotely control the audio/video sources in other rooms. In addition, four user-selectable channels allow multiple-transmitter-to-multiple-receiver operation in the same area.

Review: Great gadget - perfect for TV viewing where there's no cable outlet - I bought the AVS-5811 system (transmitter and receiver) about 8 months ago to replace a 2.4ghz product that we'd used for about 18 months prior to that. We didn't want to deal with installing a cable outlet for a TV in the kitchen, and a wireless transmitter seemed like a good idea. The 2.4ghz transmitter worked OK - but would get heavy static any time our cordless phones rang or we used the microwave. We were finally motivated to upgrade to a 5.8ghz version when our new wireless-N router caused constant static w/ the old model. So far, so good - no problems to date with the AVS-5811 at all. No interference from phones, microwave or wireless router and the picture from our Digital cable box to the LCD TV about 25 feet away in the kitchen is great. The only limitation is that you'd have to change channels using the actual cable box, so if you're not in range for your cable remote to work, you have to walk over to do it. Not a problem for us, since we've got line of site to the source cable box, but it could be a hassle for some people. I think there's some sort of remote extender device avail, but I haven't explored that. I definitely recommend the AVS-5811 for anyone who wants to view cable TV in a location without a convenient cable outlet, and I'm buying an extra receiver (AVS-5813) for use in another room.
Review: Good alternative to additional Direct TV/Dish Network receiver - I have three of these units. We moved and Direct TV was going to charge me over $100 for an additional receiver plus the $5.00 per month rental fee for it. If the unit lasts for more than a year, it has paid for itself (I paid $64.81 for it in August and am waiting for it to drop again). Right now it is over-priced. It works on different levels of the house and I even took it out on the patio to watch the game. You will occasionally get interference on it when someone walks between the sender and receiver. You can usually move the receiver antenna a bit to clear this up. After reading some of the reviews, I would recommend purchasing a single sender and receiver unit first to see how it works in your house.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for monitoring security cameras on multiple tvs in the same house ...
*by B***T on July 12, 2014*

I bought this extra receiver so that I could add this to the RF Link transmitter and receiver I have already been using for a couple years to watch tv without extra cable boxes. Now that we have moved to a much larger house, I have re-purposed them all and added them to my security system. We now use them to transmit the signal from the security camera DVR/NVR (locked in a closet upstairs) to the two main televisions we use downstairs. Now, when someone rings the door bell, we just switch the the input on the remote and all of the security cameras come up on the tv so we can see who is parked in the driveway and at the front door. You can use multiple receivers with a single transmitter as long as they are on the same channel. We may buy one more of these to transmit to an additional tv in another bedroom. This model does NOT transmit our camera signals in HD but resolution is quite good. If we ever need to go back and look at higher quality pictures, we can always go back to the the DVR which records in HD.
